“ TL Sports has already supplied running shoes to the Timorese national
marathon team through Nike's sponsorship, two runners will be wearing
these performance enhancing shoes when they represent their country at
the London Olympics later this year. Now we can offer the very best
quality equipment to local athletes, which is essential if they’re to
compete at the international level,"

Members of the national football team will also be visiting TL Sports to try on their Nike boots for the next season of games.
"I know that the Timorese preferred sport is soccer but we also want to
be able to introduce sporting equipment and apparel to develop other
sports like tennis, badminton and swimming", Ivan explained.
TL Sports is the exclusive distributor for Nike, Adidas, Babolat, New
Balance and Quiksilver, Roxy & DC fashion apparels. All products are
genuine.
FONE HAUS is a mobile phone specialty shop. They stock a wide range for
all your mobile phone needs that includes accessories. Some of the
exciting brands available are Iphone, Blackberry, Nokia, My Phone,
Phillips, Motorola and Sony Ericsson. They are exclusive distributors
for Phillips and My Phone mobiles and a Solution Partner of Nokia.
Ivan explained that the company's philosophy is to focus on quality and
service, to provide maximum value for their customers' money. “ A
satisfied customer is a happy customer”
He says, “When someone makes an investment in a top-of-the-range smart
phone, such as an iphone, they should be able to expect it to last,
unlike the counterfeit products which would only have a life-span of 3-6
months, so buying a counterfeit phone is not value for money in the
long run”.
All products at genuine and covered by warranty |
"It's hard to detect a fake; only when you open a counterfeit phone up
then you be able to see the non-standard features," he added, "but at
Fone Haus you can be absolutely assured that you are buying the real
thing, all of the phones at Fone Haus are backed up with a 3-month
warranty”.
Fone Haus can also offer a phone repair service, provided by a qualified
Filipino technician, who is working to transfer his expertise to the
shop's Timorese staff.
Fone Haus and TL Sports currently employ 15 local staff, who have been
extensively trained, with plans to expand the workforce in the near
future.
"We wanted to make a long-term commitment to Timor-Leste, in terms of
human resource development, helping to build the economy through our tax
contributions and giving the Timorese people access to high-quality,
branded goods that up to now have rarely been available here," Ivan
said.
The parent Company NWTL has been operating in Papua New Guinea for the
past 25 years and has brought its long standing and extensive retail
knowledge to add to the local economy. With a total workforce of over
800 staff in PNG, and a diversified business portfolio, NWTL still
maintains its company mission statement;
“At NWTL, we pledge to provide distinctive quality and an unparalleled
customer service as we strive to gain the respect and trust of our
customers, suppliers and partner vendors”
When NWTL first visited Timor-Leste in 2010, they identified a need for
an establishment to provide high quality mobile phone and sporting
products to the Timorese people and their growing economy.
In closing, Ivan added, “NWTL has been and is very active in community
development, we strongly believe that any business should contribute to
the local economy by training staff and getting involved in community
service, I look forward to applying our visions here in Timor-Leste”
